We love tech talks at Uber. Every Friday we come together as an engineering organization and share our knowledge. Topics cover all manner or things; architecture, realtime systems, mapping, routing, products, fraud, integrations and more. We love to teach and we love to learn (and we love external speakers, email me if you'd like to talk!).
Unfortunately, one of our speakers last Friday had to pull out the night before, but instead of cancelling the talk I decided to organize an impromptu lighting talk competition. We voted on proposed talks, picked the top 10, gave everyone 5 minute slots and then slapped together presentations the next morning.
I decided to give a talk on fighting performance trolls - something that I'm very passionate about. I'd like to elaborate on the topic at some point, but for now, here's the video of the presentation:
